Should hear of reshuffle soon, says Tanavade

Panaji: BJP state president and Rajya Sabha member Sadanand Shet Tanavade on Wednesday hinted at a cabinet reshuffle. “You should be able to see (reshuffle this year), he said in response to a question.

Tanavade made the statement while leaving the chief minister’s official residence at Altinho. He, however, said that a discussion with the chief minister was held ahead of the upcoming polls for internal posts of BJP.

“In the coming days, we will have internal polls within the organisation. We held discussions over it. We will be in the North Goa BJP office on Thursday morning and in the South Goa office in the second half. The core team has scheduled meetings regarding the polls. We plan to complete all polls to our mandals by Jan 10, as also the zilla level polls,” said Tanavade.

Last Aug, the CM had said he had decided to go in for a cabinet reshuffle to drop non-performing ministers. He had said a reshuffle was “on the cards” and “will soon happen”.

Soon after, health minister Vishwajit Rane had backed Calangute MLA Michael Lobo for a cabinet berth. He had told this to reporters when asked if he would like his colleague to be made a minister.
