Wooden bridge in Palolem creek dismantled

and surrounding areas heaved a sigh of relief after the makeshift

wooden

bridge which had come overnight in the path of their course to the anchorage was

dismantled

.


Fishermen were all praise for the Canacona MLA for directing the Canacona police inspector and deputy collector to ensure the

bridge

was removed by Saturday.

“The fishermen are at ease today. Our MLA was very prompt to the request of the fishermen in asking the concerned authorities to act,” said Diwakar Pagi.

The bridge was constructed using bamboos and planks to make way for the tourists from Palolem end to the other side at Ranchival on Wednesday during the low tide. It was obstructing free entry to the canoes that were being anchored in this

creek

for several decades.
