3 promise man help to bail bro out of narcotics case, con him

Gurgaon: Three men allegedly cheated a Nathupur resident of around Rs 45 lakh under the pretext of getting his brother’s name off from a narcotic’s case which he had been booked in October this year, police said.Complainant Sumit Yadav told police that one of his brother Amit’s friends, Prince, had told them in November that he had some contacts who could help get Amit off the case for a price. Prince allegedly got Sumit in touch with his relative Nitin, a resident of Kadarpur, who took Rs 20 lakh from him in exchange for getting the charges against Amit dropped, Sumit alleged. Later, Amit asked Sumit to pay his friends Mayank and Sonu Rs 25 lakh as they claimed they would also help him get his name removed from the case. On November 23, Sumit paid the two the amount at the Radisson hotel in Delhi, he said.A few days later, police arrested Amit for his involvement in the same case. When Sumit contacted the three about the arrest and demanded his money back, they all refused, he alleged. A case was registered against the three accused under sections 406 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC at DLF 3 police station.
