GURGAON: A biker was injured on Sunday morning after allegedly speeding and attempting to overtake on NH-8 near Ambience Mall in DLF 3.
The accident, captured on a helmet-mounted camera of another biker, shows the bike, a Suzuki Hayabusa, moving at very high speed moments before the crash. Police said the rider lost control during an unsafe manoeuvre.
The impact flung the biker onto the road, causing him to roll several times, while the motorcycle skidded a long distance. The video spread widely across social media, triggering sharp reactions over rash riding and traffic violations on the busy Gurgaon stretch.
A police team rushed to the spot and shifted the injured rider to Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment.
A senior officer said no case was registered as the rider refused to file a complaint and admitted to overspeeding. and overtaking from the wrong side. "Since the rider acknowledged the violation, he did not lodge any complaint. The incident was clearly captured on video," the SHO of DLF Phase 3 police station said.
Police added that while the Swift car involved in the incident has been traced and its driver identified, preliminary findings indicate the biker was at fault.
The Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway (NH-8) has witnessed multiple accidents this year, often linked to overspeeding, dangerous overtaking and lane violations. Traffic police reiterated their appeal to motorists to follow speed limits and traffic rules, especially near the Ambience Mall zone, which remains prone to congestion and frequent accidents.
