Dibrugarh: Approximately 6,000 ex-servicemen and their families from across upper Assam converged at the Polo Ground in Dibrugarh on Sunday for a mega ‘Ex-Servicemen Rally’ organised by the armed forces, marking one of the largest veteran outreach initiatives in the region.
The rally, conducted under the theme ‘Nishtha Se Sewa Tak (From Dedication to Service)’, symbolised the unbroken journey from devoted service in uniform to continued commitment beyond military life. The event aimed to honour veterans’ selfless contributions while addressing their welfare needs through comprehensive and coordinated support services.
The gathering brought together former servicemen and their dependents from various districts of upper Assam, creating a platform for addressing long-standing grievances and facilitating access to entitled benefits.
An array of welfare-oriented facilities was established at the venue to ensure veterans received immediate assistance.
