TEZPUR: An earthquake measuring 3.4 magnitude struck Tezpur in Assam during the early hours of Wednesday, as reported by the National Center for Seismology. The seismic event occurred at 5:55 am IST (Indian Standard Time) at a depth of 20 km, with the epicenter situated 42 km east of Tezpur.
The National Center for Seismology shared the following information: "Earthquake of Magnitude: 3.4 occurred on 27-12-2023, 05:55:35 IST, Lat: 26.70 & Long: 93.22, Depth: 20 Km, Location: 42 km E of Tezpur, Assam, India."
Fortunately, there were no reported casualties resulting from the earthquake.
In a similar incident earlier this month, Assam's Guwahati experienced an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.5.
