Mass protest in Dibrugarh against persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh

Dibrugarh: Hundreds of protesters took to the streets of Dibrugarh on Tuesday over the recent attacks on Hindu minorities and Iskcon temples in Bangladesh. The protest, organised by the Lok Jagaran Manch, saw participants marching from Chowkidingee playground to the DC office, demanding immediate action to protect the Hindu community in Bangladesh.Protesters, carrying placards and banners, raised their voices against what they described as a systematic persecution of Hindus in the neighbouring country. The protesters expressed their outrage over the detention of Iskcon monk Chinmoy Krishna Das, who has been arrested by Bangladesh authorities amid the escalating violence against Hindus."These attacks are not just against temples or individuals, they represent an assault on the entire Hindu community worldwide. We cannot remain silent while our brothers and sisters face such brutality across the border. The world must know that this is not just a local issue. It is a humanitarian crisis that requires urgent attention," said Rajesh Sharma, one of the protestors.The protesters submitted a memorandum to the DC, urging the Indian govt to take diplomatic measures to ensure the safety of Hindus in Bangladesh."The arrest of Chinmoy Krishna Das is completely unjustified. We demand his immediate and unconditional release. These incidents are not isolated cases but part of a broader pattern of religious persecution that must be addressed at an international level," Priya Goswami, a senior member of the Lok Jagaran Manch said.
