BJP Yuva Morcha demands action against illegal immigrants
Hubballi: BJP Yuva Morcha members of Hubballi-Dharwad East Assembly constituency protested in the city and submitted a petition to the police department, demanding action to stop Bangladeshi infiltrators from coming to Hubballi from West Bengal.
The protesters gathered in front of the town police station on Wednesday and accused the state of being irresponsible, and trying to appease the Muslim community. They raised slogans against the govt and chief minister Siddaramaiah.
Jayateertha Katti, Dharwad divisional in-charge of BJP, alleged that Bangladeshi infiltrators were illegally coming to Hubballi from West Bengal under the pretext of daily wage workers, and demanded that documents of those coming from other places must be checked strictly, illegal immigrants must be identified and strict action must be taken against them.
A large number of infiltrators from West Bengal are coming to various parts of the state, he stated and demanded that the state govt must investigate and take appropriate action.
“Even though such a large number of infiltrators are coming to the state, the govt is silent, which probably shows that it is indirectly cooperating with them. Govt should stop playing politics on the issue of national security,” he said.
