Koppal records 86.9% II PUC results, tops KK region

With a substantial jump of 19.7% points, Koppal has climbed to the 17th position in the state rankings, reflecting a significant turnaround in academic performance.DDPU Jagadish GH described the outcome as the highest in the district's history, attributing the success to the sustained efforts of students, lecturers and the education department.A total of 13,312 fresh candidates appeared for the examination, of whom 11,555 cleared it. Including repeaters, 15,503 candidates took the exam, with 12,189 emerging successful.Stream-wise performance among fresh candidates showed Arts recording a pass percentage of 78.3%, Commerce 90.3%, and Science 92.7%, indicating strong results across all streams. Region-wise, rural areas outperformed urban centres, registering 89.9% as against 84.6% in urban areas.Koppal also outshone other districts in the Kalyana Karnataka region, including Bidar, Kalaburagi, Yadgir, Raichur, Ballari and Vijayanagara.The district's educational infrastructure comprises 50 govt colleges, nine aided institutions, 43 private colleges and 15 Morarji Desai colleges.Education department officials credited the improved results to a series of focused measures, including ensuring regular attendance of students, continuous academic support and motivation by lecturers, sharing study materials through WhatsApp even during holidays, and regular monitoring visits to colleges.Deputy commissioner Suresh B Itnal said he was glad about the achievement and congratulated the students, urging them to continue striving for greater success in their academic journey.
