Prof: Design of AI hardware will gain importance

Dharwad: Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications will be used in all spheres in near future and as such the design of AI hardware will gain importance, said professor Luca Di Nunzio of University of Rome, Tor Vergata, Italy. Inaugurating the two-day international conference on ‘AI and Sustainable Computing’ organised by the SDM College of Engineering and Technology here on Friday, he said the emergence of AI is shaping an increasing range of sectors.AI is expected to affect global productivity, equality and inclusion, environmental outcomes and several other areas, both in the short and long term, he said. He complimented SDMCET for organising the conference, which he said will help the socio-economic life of the people across the world. Professor Parameshachari BD of NMIT, Bengaluru highlighted the importance of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in providing cutting edge technology to the world. Chairman of the organising committee Satish Bhairannavar said 850 papers had been submitted and of them 25% were selected. SDME Society secretary Jeevandhar Kumar presidedover while college principal K Gopinath welcomed the gathering.
