HYDERABAD: A day after TRS MLA G Sunitha said parents of the four accused must have been deeply pained on hearing about the killings of their sons in the police encounter,

zilla parishad chairperson Dafedar Shobha of TRS made controversial remarks that the veterinarian might not have shared a close bond with her parents and that is the reason why she called her sister instead of her father when she sensed danger on that fateful night.

“It appears that Disha did not share a close bond with her parents,” Shobha said at a meeting with women and child welfare officials in Kamareddy.

Shobha wondered why Disha being a gazetted officer was so scared when faced with a situation. “She was not even courageous to call her father to come to her aid,” she said. “Crimes have taken place before and they will continue to happen. This is not something that the government can control,” Shobha said. “Blaming the government for such crimes against women is not right. Every single individual cannot be protected by government,” she said. Later, Shobha administered an oath to the staffers on safety of women.
