Telangana assembly elections: After recovery, manifesto first on KCR’s poll agenda
Sources in the ruling BRS said KCR has shifted his entire focus on the party’s election manifesto and has been working on it for the past three weeks. Though he has been unwell, he has been holding meetings with ministers KT Rama Rao and T Harish Rao among others.
A senior leader did not rule out the possibility of KCR having not met many leaders from the party in the last three weeks to ensure that none of the promises, sops and welfare schemes being proposed in the BRS election manifesto were leaked.
Keeping in view the six main guarantees made by Congress in addition to numerous other promises to farmers, women, youth and other sections of society, the CM is making sure that the election manifesto of BRS becomes the winning formula to score a hat-trick of victories in assembly polls.
CM KCR is expected to unveil the BRS manifesto at a massive public meeting in Warangal on October 16.
On Sunday, KCR discussed with Harish Rao about the expectations and demands of the people from BRS election manifesto, the election strategy to be adopted as the assembly poll schedule is expected soon. The CM also discussed the public meetings, road shows and other yatras to be taken up by himself (KCR), KTR, Harish Rao and other ministers.
KCR will score a hat-trick: Harish
Finance Minister T Harish Rao has stated that the BJP will not secure deposits in most seats in the upcoming assembly elections. He advised BJP national president JP Nadda to form a committee to secure deposits. Harish Rao also ridiculed BJP leader BL Santosh's statement about a potential 'hung' assembly. He expressed confidence that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party would secure a hat-trick victory in the elections. Harish Rao compared the performance of other parties to cricket, stating that the TRS would hit a sixer, while Congress would be run-out and the BJP would suffer a duck-out.
BRS may name 5 candidates before election schedule
The BRS party in Telangana is expected to announce candidates for five pending seats before the election schedule is announced. Palla Rajeshwar Reddy and Marri Rajasekhar Reddy have already begun campaigning for their respective constituencies. The party is still unsure about the candidate for Narsapur assembly, with a preference for ex-minister Sunita Laxma Reddy over the sitting MLA. The party is also undecided on candidates for Goshamahal and Nampally. Meanwhile, the Congress and BJP are criticizing the BRS party and its leaders in Telangana.
BRS ministers slam PM over BJP promises
Health Minister Harish Rao and other cabinet colleagues criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not fulfilling promises and neglecting irrigation projects in Telangana. They accused the BJP of obstructing vital projects and failing to address water disputes. The ministers also criticized the PM for ignoring toll taxes on road development and not following through on promises like a tribal university. In other news, the Public Health and Engineering Department Minister in Jaipur laid the foundation stone for three water projects, and the Telangana Health Minister warned of an increase in fever cases in the state.
