Srinivas Yadav, 54, who served as chairman of 'City Granthalaya Samstha' in Hyderabad during former CM of undivided Andhra Pradesh YS Rajasekhara Reddy's term, aspired for Goshamal assembly ticket to fight against his rival, BJP heavyweight T Raja Singh. But, the BRS leadership fielded Nand Kishore Vyas from Goshamahal in Nov 2023 assembly elections.

Before joining the BRS in 2015, Srinivas Yadav worked as a NSUI leader and later was made vice-president of Youth Congress. Promoter of Hindavi group of educational institutions, he also heads Gaddam Gangadhar Yadav Foundation.

Hyderabad constituency is a stronghold of AIMIM, which has been winning the seat for the last four decades. BJP has named Virinchi Hospitals chairperson Madhavi Latha, while Congress is likely to field Supreme Court lawyer Tabassum to fight against Owaisi. If Tabassum is named, Owaisi will be up against two women and an educationist. Owaisi is a four-term MP from Hyderabad and has been winning the seat since 2004.

BRS and AIMIM were friendly allies and after Nov 2023 elections, the latter has been warming up to the Congress govt in the state.
