Chase the high of success, not substances: Celebs urge youth

HYDERABAD: “Consuming drugs gives you a temporary high. Chase the high of success, not drugs,” Tollywood actor Vijay Deverakonda said in his address to a large group of students at the event.

Former international badminton player Pullela Gopichand called consuming drugs the single biggest mistake anybody could make in life. “I am proud to say I have never consumed drugs.

For a young population to be consuming drugs, it is really bad,” he said. “Say no to drugs, say yes to sports. While our population has gone up numerically, we have come down physically,” he added.

Actor Ram Charan expressed concern over the usage of drugs among youth. “Drug use has become an organised crime.

When I was in school, we used to drink goli soda and popsicles, but the youth these days are consuming drugs,” the actor said. “As a parent now, although my kid is home-schooling now, in future, it is concerning to send a child out,” he said.
