Come clean on Kancha Gachibowli land deal, BRS to Congress govt
Hyderabad: Continuing his attack on the Congress over the Kancha Gachibowli issue, BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Saturday demanded the state govt to publicly disclose all land transactions and clarify its role in mortgaging forest land in Kancha Gachibowli. He reiterated there was a financial scam in the Rs 10,000 crore bonds procured through the TGIIC.Speaking at the party workers' meeting in Karimnagar on Saturday, KTR accused the Congress govt of engaging in dubious land transactions, including mortgaging 400 acres of forest land and diverting public resources to benefit private brokers and corporations."Telangana PCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud himself admitted that money was raised by pledging Kancha Gachibowli land, which confirms what we already revealed," KTR said. The govt was coming up with different versions on mortgaging the land, and people deserve to know the truth — was the land mortgaged, sold, auctioned, or illegally allotted?" he said. KTR demanded a transparent explanation on the status of these lands, questioning whether they were already converted into real estate plots and distributed to private beneficiaries through backdoor channels. He questioned the unusual payment of ₹170 crore in commission for a ₹10,000 crore loan deal, saying, "Where else in the country have we seen such huge commissions in govt deals? What are they hiding?"KTR accused the BJP of shielding the Congress govt, specifically Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, over the past 15 months. "Bandi Sanjay is protecting Revanth like a bodyguard. If the BJP and Congress aren't colluding, why isn't the BJP demanding a formal investigation?" He demanded that the RBI and the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) immediately investigate the financial aspects of the land and loan deals.Meanwhile, former minister T Harish Rao and BRS MLA KP Vivekand demanded the govt explanation on mortgaging the Kancha Gachibowli lands. "When I asked a question in the legislative assembly recently, the state govt replied that the govt raised Rs 10,000 crore bonds by mortgaging 400 acres of Kancha Gachibowli land. Now the ICICI bank says the land was not mortgaged to them. Then the govt owes an answer on where the govt pledged the lands to procure the amount," Harish Rao questioned. He also demanded the govt come up with a white paper on the lands mortgaged, including Gachibowli land.
