Cong MP slams BRS, BJP for distorting CM’s remarks on HYDRAA
Hyderabad: Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy on Monday said the BRS and BJP have intentionally distorted chief minister A Revanth Reddy’s remarks on HYDRAA and sought to advise them that it is the collective responsibility of every one to protect Hyderabad and its water bodies.
“The CM, in a conclave in Bengaluru recently, was highlighting HYDRAA’s structured and effective functioning in protecting lakes, ponds, govt lands, nalas, and the Musi river from encroachments, and did not praise dictator Adolf Hitler of Germany, as being claimed by the opposition. HYDRAA was introduced to address Hyderabad’s flooding and urban challenges and protect lakes from encroachments,” Kiran Reddy said.
The MP said HYDRAA was introduced after Revanth witnessed the hardships faced by residents in flood-prone areas during his tenure as Malkajgiri MP.
The Cong MP accused the BRS and BJP of creating a needless political controversy to tarnish the CM’s image and urged all political parties to support HYDRAA in the larger interest of Hyderabad’s development and environmental protection.
“Politics can continue, but protecting Hyderabad is a collective responsibility. HYDRAA has benefited lakhs of people and should be supported by all,” he claimed.
