HYDERABAD: A-day after the audio clip purportedly having the voice of Congress MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy threatening to kill TPCC vice-president Cheruku Sudhakar went viral on social media, a group of party leaders close to TPCC chief A Revanth Reddy on Monday lodged a complaint with the party high command to take serious action against him.

They accused Venkat Reddy of implementing BJP and RSS agenda for destroying the Congress in Telangana. Venkat Reddy allegedly made derogatory remarks against BC leader Cheruku Sudhakar, Muslim leader Md Ali Shabbir and Dalit leader Addanki Dayakar earlier too. The BC, Muslim and minority communities are a strong vote bank of the Congress which the BJP is trying to woo on its side and Venkat Reddy's actions have been indirectly helping the BJP in achieving its goal, alleged the leaders.

Speaking to TOI, Venkat Reddy said: "A group of leaders are continuously trying to push me out of Congress. Intentionally, only part of my emotional talk has been leaked in the audio. To please party leadership for poll ticket, Cheruku Sudhakar has been abusing me. With concern, I told his son that my followers may go to any extent to teach Sudhakar a lesson. I have highest regard for BCs, STs, SCs, minorities," he said.
