Telangana: Cyberabad police nab 7 for dacoity in Tamil Nadu
HYDERABAD: Within 24 hours after the sensational dacoity at
Cyberabad police commissioner
It was on Friday morning, six persons wearing either masks or helmets entered Muthoot Finance and threatened the staff by aiming the guns point blank and stole 25 kgs of gold and Rs 96,000. Later by using bikes with the support of their other associates waiting outside, the accused sped away with booty.
Officials said after committing the offence they went upto Tamil Nadu and Karnataka border. Nearby a lorry container was kept ready as per their plan. The stolen property and weapons were loaded into the lorry. Amith, Teak Ram and Rajiv Kumar got into the lorry and fled away whereas the other four persons went to their hired room, where the bikes were abandoned. Subsequently, they hired a taxi upto Ananthapur district in Andhra Pradesh.
Untill Ananthapur, both the taxi and lorry container were going in the same route but maintaining some distance.
After reaching Ananthapur, five persons got down the taxi and hired another taxi with a plan to get down at Shamshabad.
By this time, Tamil Nadu police shared investigation leads that the accused were using a lorry container and a sumo first to Karnataka police and later to Telangana police.
The lorry container entered Telangana in the night. Later a taxi a particular make also followed. Earlier, police observed that both were following each other.
Suspecting that the persons seated in the taxi could be accused, a police team waited for them until they reached Shamshabad. At the earlier toll plaza, the officials found in footage that five youngsters were seated in the taxi, whose features resembled details shared by Krishnagiri district police of TN.
"Since we knew that the accused were in possession of weapons, we have to make sure all our police involved in checking were armed with weapons at every checking point set at multiple places. After the accused were caught at Shamshabad, it was they who gave the information that the stolen wealth was in a container lorry, which went ahead. Finally the container was intercepted on National Highway at Medchal,’’ Sajjanar said.
Prior to the commission on offence, few of the accused by camping in Bangalore for one month, did recee at various places and finally zeroed in on Muthoot Finance, Hosur branch.
It was in the month of October 2020, the accused made a failed attempt to commit a dacoity in Ludhiana Punjab, where the accused opened 32 bullets and killed a civilian too in the offence. It is the missing accused Pandey who sold the weapon to the other accused for Rs 35,000 each.
