HYDERABAD: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has fixed December 11 as the date to question Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekara Rao's daughter and state MLC Kalvakuntla Kavita in the Delhi liquor policy case.

MLC Kavita was initially asked to be available on December 6, but she has asked the agency that she would be available at her residence in Hyderabad on December 11, 12, 14, and 15 for examination in connection with the CBI investigation.

Agreeing to one of the dates Kavita has given, CBI said that, the team would visit her residence in Banjara Hills at 11am on December 11 for her examination and recording of your statement in connection with an investigation of a liquor scam.

She was served notices under 160 Crpc as a witness in the case. Kavita had already asked for FIR and complainant copy, and CBI had replied, saying they are available on the website.

Notices were served as Kavita is believed to be acquainted with the facts and circumstances of the case.

Kavita is likely to be questioned regarding her connections with Amit Arora one of the key accused, P Sarath Reddy of Aurobindo pharma and other accused in the case.

CBI had booked a case against Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia and 14 others regarding the allegations of irregularities in framing the excise policy of GNCT of Delhi for the year 2021-22.

The investigating agencies alleged that South cartel of liquor contractors that paid Rs 100 crore to the Aam Admi Party government key functionaries was led by P Sarath Reddy of Aurobindo Pharma, TRS MLC Kavita and YSRC MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy.

Both CBCI and ED have so far arrested businessman Abhishek Boinpally, former trade commissioner Arun Ramachandra Pillai, and P Sarath Reddy of Aurobindo Pharma.

BJP has been alleging that Kavita played an intermediary role and collected bribes from the cartel and paid it to the ministers and officials in the AAP government.
