Drunk Hyderabad man kills 15-year-old son for coming home late from party

HYDERABAD: A 15-year-old boy died after being beaten by his father for returning home late in Choutuppal on Saturday night.

According to police, Bhanu, a Class 9 student, had attended a farewell party at school. By the time he returned home, his father, Saidulu, was intoxicated and enraged over his son's late arrival. In a fit of anger, Saidulu repeatedly assaulted Bhanu, who eventually lost consciousness. Family members rushed him to the hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Police confirmed that Saidulu was under the influence of alcohol during the attack. Following a complaint from Bhanu's mother, police officials have registered a case against Saidulu under charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder. Investigation is on.
