joined the BJP on Thursday. She joined the party in the presence of BJP state president

K Laxman

and party national general secretary Muralidhar Rao.


She is likely to contest from either Sanga Reddy or

Medak assembly constituency

. Padmini Reddy has been trying to contest in the elections from Sanga Reddy assembly constituency on Congress ticket. But the Congress party leadership reportedly denied giving ticket to her as a policy only one ticket in each family except in the cases of sitting MLAs. The screening committee of Telangana Congress Committee did not clear her name and recommended ticket to ex MLA Jagga Reddy, who represented the party during 2009-2014. Interestingly, Raja Narasimha is presently chairman of the Manifesto committee of the party.

Party sources Swamy Paripoornananda of Sree Peetham, played key role in inducting her into the party. Padmini Reddy is a devotee of Swamy Paripoornananda, who reportedly spoke to BJP president Amti Shah and got clearance for her induction.
