Hyderabad: Hitachi Group’s digital engineering player GlobalLogic is taking the hub-and-spoke route to expand its India footprint by tapping regional markets and leveraging local talent for strategic growth. As part of this strategy, GlobalLogic opened its first satellite centre in India at Mahabubnagar in Telangana, with plans to open the second one at Ahmedabad for the western region, Piyush Jha, group vice president & managing director-APAC, GlobalLogic, told TOI. The company is also looking at cities such as Jaipur, Lucknow and Chandigarh for northern region, Jha said, pointing out that the idea is to first identify tier 2 and 3 cities near the main hub from where a number of their employees come from and then look at setting up satellite centres there. “In our pursuit of top-notch talent, we are expanding our horizons beyond the large metros, reaching into smaller towns within 100-200 km of main hubs,” he explained.Talking about the Mahabubnagar centre, he said though the 18,000 sq ft facility, which has a capacity to seat 180 techies, has started out with just 25 employees, plans are afoot to double the capacity to 400-500 over the next one year.
