Harish alerts public over fever cases
Sudden spike in fever cases across state
There has been a sudden spike in fever cases across the state of Andhra Pradesh, leading to overcrowding in government hospitals, primary health centers, and private clinics. The health department has ordered the screening of every fever case for dengue and urged private hospitals to refer such cases to government hospitals for confirmation through Alesa test. The public has been advised to seek treatment at the nearest government hospital. Door-to-door surveys are being conducted to identify fever cases early on. Similar situations have been reported in Ahmedabad and Thiruvananthapuram, where dengue cases have increased due to recent rainfall.
Ahmedabad sees spike in cases of fever, cold
The recent rainfall in Ahmedabad has caused a rise in cases of fever, particularly dengue and viral fever. Medical experts expect the number of cases to continue increasing in the coming days due to water accumulation. Hospitals have reported patients experiencing symptoms such as fever, body ache, blocked nose, and fatigue. The early symptoms of dengue have proven challenging for doctors to recognize, with platelet drop occurring faster and mild fever leading to sudden hemorrhage. The health department has reported 393 cases of dengue in city hospitals and urban health centers from September 1 to 17. Private hospitals in Kolkata have reopened fever clinics to screen dengue patients.
Mumbai records over 700 dengue, malaria cases in September
Mumbai has seen a surge in cases of malaria and dengue, with 756 confirmed cases of malaria and 703 cases of dengue in the first two weeks of September. The numbers are likely to surpass those from August, where there were 1,080 cases of malaria and 999 cases of dengue. The increase in cases is attributed to sporadic rainfall, creating favorable conditions for mosquito breeding. The BMC has issued an advisory to combat mosquito breeding by emphasizing the importance of cleanliness and removing items that could collect water.
