Hyderabad to host fourth edition of History Literature Festival from Feb 6

Hyderabad: The city will host the fourth edition of the History Literature Festival (HLF) from Feb 6 to Feb 8 at the Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet, bringing together leading historians, scholars and cultural practitioners from across the country. A travelling festival movement, HLF aims to make historical enquiry accessible by blending traditions, music and storytelling.The three-day festival will feature discussions spanning archaeology, politics, science, business, Telugu cinema, war and the history of art and music. Renowned speakers, including Amar Farooqui, Anirudh Kanisetti, Rana Safvi, Aanchal Malhotra, Raghu Karnad, Chinmay Tumbe and Eric Chopra, will participate in intimate ‘baithaks' and panel discussions.
Furthermore, cultural performances also form a key part of the programme. The opening evening will explore the living tradition of Qawwali with a talk by Kathak dancer and researcher Manjari Chaturvedi, followed by a performance by the Warsi Brothers."HLF was created to take history out of classrooms and into public spaces," said Rakesh Basant, co-founder of the festival. "Hyderabad's layered past and vibrant cultural life make it an ideal home for conversations that connect scholarship with everyday experience. Founded in Ahmedabad in 2023, HLF since travelled to Pune and Bengaluru, steadily building a national platform for historical dialogue," he added.
