JNTU-K filed cheating case against Globarena
HYDERABAD: Globarena Technologies, which is now under the scanner over the inter results fiasco, is already facing a fraud case in Sarpavaram police station in Andhra Pradesh.
Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Kakinada had filed a police complaint in 2019, alleging that the company failed to deliver quality content and evaded service tax. It also said that the project was assigned to the company for online evaluation despite the fact that the company had no previous experience. The Telangana government had awarded the inter exam project to Globarena in December 2017 and by that time JNTU-K had terminated the agreement and is fighting legal cases against the firm.
Sarpavaram inspector Govind Raj told TOI: “A criminal case was booked against Globarena management three months ago for criminal breach of trust and cheating case filed by JNTU-K. In response, Globarena obtained a ‘Not to Arrest’ order from the HC. There is no stay on investigation and we have recorded statements of former vice chancellor and registrar. The key allegation is that Globarena violated the MoU and delivered poor content after taking Rs 20 crore fee.” The investigation was halted due to elections, but police said they will speed up the probe.
JNTU-K registrar VV Subba Rao told TOI: “Globarena supplied low-quality content. They just scanned the available textbooks and supplied the content. The faculty were not happy with it and the university gave a chance to the firm for betterment of the content, but there was no response. Hence JNTU-K terminated the agreement.”
Meanwhile, Globarena filed a quash petition in HC against the FIR, but the court only gave ‘not to arrest’ order. HC appointed a retired judge as an arbitrator and proceedings are on. JNTU-K too filed a petition against the arbitration.
Refuting the allegations levelled by JNTU-K, Globarena Technologies CEO V S N Raju said, “We have done digitations of exam results for JNTU-K for two years. There were no discrepancies. After a CPI leader filed a complaint with the governor, a committee was appointed and it gave us a clean chit.”

Looks like some percentage of commission was taken by the government for awarding the contract. T-government needs to answer the people of Telangana with regard to this and also the need for awarding contracts to Andhra contractors.Read allPost comment
