Lookout circular to be issued for 2 agents in Myanmar cyber slavery case
Hyderabad: Karimnagar police have announced plans to issue lookout circulars for two individuals accused of trafficking Indian youths into cyber slavery in Myanmar. The suspects, Hitesh Arjna Somaya and Rajasekhar alias Roman, are believed to be in Myanmar, as per an FIR filed at Manakonduru police station.According to Manakonduru inspector Lakshminarayana, the case, registered on Feb 23, follows a complaint from Kokkirala Lakshma Reddy, whose son, Kokkirala Madhukar Reddy, is among the victims. "Both suspects are in Myanmar, and we will issue lookout circulars against them. Victims' statements will be recorded once they return," said Lakshminarayana. Madhukar, previously employed in Dubai, played a role in leading out other victims.Madhukar, 35, was lured by a job offer as a computer operator in Bangkok, with a salary of Rs 70,000 per month. Recruited by agents on Telegram, Madhukar flew from Hyderabad to Bangkok on Dec 18, 2024. He was then illegally transported to Myawaddy district in Myanmar, where he and nearly 100 other Indian youths were held hostage in a compound, KK2 Park, under armed guard. Forced to work in cyber fraud operations targeting NRIs in the US, those who resisted faced electric shocks, physical abuse, and death threats. Their passports were confiscated, preventing escape. The FIR reveals that Somaya and Rajasekhar have been running a human trafficking operation for years, charging Rs 3 lakh per person for jobs that turned out to be a trap. Victims were allegedly sold to Chinese-run cyber fraud centres in Cambodia, Myanmar, and Laos, disguised as tech companies. Rajasekhar has been previously implicated in a case filed in Oct 2024, when four youths from Jagtial were trafficked to a Chinese company in Laos. They managed to escape and reported the incident to the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau, leading to the case against him.
