Man dies by suicide after being caught in drunk driving test

Hyderabad: Minutes after allegedly being caught in a drunk driving test while riding his employer's bike, B Bhanuchander, 34, died by suicide on the railway tracks near Shivarampally railway station in the early hours of Sunday. Before taking the extreme step, Bhanuchander called his mother, informing her that the police caught him in a drunk driving check and seized the bike."I do not even have a driving licence. This is my last call. My phone will be switched off soon," he told his mother, the police said. A case was registered, and the exact reasons behind the suicide are under probe, said an official from Kacheguda Govt Railway Police (GRP)."Based on the PME report and other details, the exact cause of his death and the reasons behind the suicide would be known," the official added.His family members told the cops that Bhanuchander was working for a jeweller at Abids. On Saturday after work, he left for home at Langar Houz on his employer's bike, during which he was allegedly caught in a drunk driving test.However, he did not tell which police caught him and where he was caught. Alerted by railway authorities, railway cops rushed to the spot and then alerted his family.
