Man stabs friend in inebriated condition in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: A

fast-food joint worker

stabbed his friend following an argument over a

petty issue

at his house in

Shamshabad

on Monday morning.

The accused Jeevan, 26, from

Narkuda near Shamshabad

works at a fast-food joint in Shamshabad. Jeevan is a

native of Odisha

and his friend Ramakanth, 31, who is also from Odisha, works at an oil factory in Gagan Pahad. Both are unmarried.

On Sunday night, Jeevan invited Ramakanth to his house. The duo purchased alcohol and prepared non-vegetarian food at home.

While consuming liquor, Ramakanth asked Jeevan to lend some money. When Jeevan refused, Ramakanth abused him using filthy language.

“The two fought throughout the night and again in the morning. Fed up with his friend’s drunken behaviour, Jeevan ran into the kitchen, picked up a knife and stabbed Ramakanth in the throat in a fit of rage,” Shamshabad inspector K Krishna Prasad said.

After the attack, Ramakanth came out of the house screaming for help and locals alerted police. Cops rushed the victim to Osmania General Hospital for treatment. “The victim is out of danger,” the inspector said. Jeevan surrendered before the police and a case has been registered against him under section 307 of the IPC.
