MLA Bapu Rao quits BRS, may join Cong

Hyderabad: Boath BRS MLA Rathod Bapu Rao, who failed to get a ticket this time, has announced his resignation from the party. He is likely to join the Congress soon. Bapu Rao’s name did not figure in the BRS first list announced by the party last month. Anil Jadhav was given the ticket in his place. After being denied a ticket, Bapu Rao had said that he would continue in BRS and hoped the party would recognise his service and give him a ticket. But there has been a pressure on the MLA from his supporters to quit and contest from Boath. He even held a meeting with his supporters a couple of days ago as well as on Monday. He had reportedly also tried to meet KCR and KTR, but could not get an appointment. Bapu Rao won from Boath twice in 2014 and 2018 on TRS ticket. Anil Jadhav contested in 2018 as Independent and on Congress ticket in 2014. “I have done nothing wrong. I worked for the party and during Telangana movement. I was a denied ticket at behest of some disgruntled persons,” he said.

Ex-BRS MLA may join Congress

Vemula Veeresham, a former MLA from Nakrekal, is expected to join the Congress party after being denied a ticket by the BRS leadership. He will be accompanied by former MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy to Delhi. Meanwhile, Malkajgiri MLA Mynampally Hanumanth Rao has resigned from BRS and is likely to join a new party. Former BRS leader Tummala Nageshwara Rao has joined the Congress party after not receiving a ticket for the upcoming elections. These moves are seen as setbacks for the BRS and may strengthen Congress' presence in the state.

Denied assembly ticket, BJP's 'ghayal sherni' quits party

Mamta Meena, a former BJP MLA from Chachoura assembly seat, has resigned from the party and is expected to join the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). She expressed her anger towards the BJP leadership after her replacement in the upcoming elections. Mamta plans to contest the election from Chachoura on an AAP ticket. This is the third resignation from the BJP in two days. In the past, Mamta has won and lost elections in Chachoura. Malkajgiri MLA Mynampally Hanumanth Rao has resigned from BRS and is expected to join a new party soon. This comes after he criticized finance minister T Harish Rao over the denial of a ticket to his son. Speculations were already circulating that he would leave BRS and join the Congress. Mynampally announced his resignation through a video message, stating that he made this decision according to the wishes of the people. It is believed that he has asked for Congress tickets for himself and his son.
