HYDERABAD: Alleging that former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu was responsible for Telangana’s backwardness, BRS ministers accused the TDP president of trying to regain BJP support in the assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh.
Addressing a press conference in BRS legislature party office on Thursday, ministers — T Harish Rao, V Srinivas Goud, Puvvada Ajay and Koppula Eshwar — said Naidu did not develop Khammam or Telangana when he was CM of united AP. These leaders were reacting to Naidu’s remarks at his Khammam public meeting on Wednesday.
“After he became CM of AP, he had taken away seven mandals from Telangana and Sileru power project. Had AP constructed a bund, Bhadrachalam temple town would have not faced inundation during recent floods. He did not construct a single irrigation project when he was CM. All the development in Khammam — be it irrigation projects, medical college, IT tower or other infrastructure works, it was all due to CM KCR,” the ministers said.
Harish Rao said Nadu, who bankrupted Andhra Pradesh and failed to deliver in his state, is now coming to Telangana to cheat people here. “In previous assembly elections, he came to Khammam and Telangana in the name of Mahakutami and now, he is trying to enter Telangana in a different route,” the minister said.
The ministers said people know why the TDP chief entered Telangana and will teach him a lesson.
