This is over a 50% increase in SCR's overall sanctioned amount compared to the previous financial year when it received 9,125 crore.

Out of the zone's overall sanctioned amount, 4,418 crore will be spent to develop various projects across Telangana. This year's allocation is 45% more compared to the previous year, when it received 3,048 crore.

Nearly 768 crore will be spent to eliminate level crossings by constructing Road under Bridges and Road over Bridges and 1,360 crore allocated for track renewal works.

Addressing the media, Ashwini claimed that the Vande Bharat train experience was "every way better" compared to the time he took a high-speed train recently between Davos to Zurich. "Once the manufacturing is ramped up, naturally more Vande Bharat trains will come up across the country, including Telangana," Ashwini said while answering a question. SCR general manager Arun Kumar Jain said that this year's budget allocation is focused more on capacity building in terms of new lines, doubling and electrification works.

Some of the allocations for the new railway line projects that will benefit Telangana include 345 crore for Munirabad-Mahbubnagar, 185 crore for Manoharabad-Kothapalli, 20 crore for Bhadrachalam-Kovvur and 10 crore for Manuguru-Ramagundam lines.
