CM assures full support to Foxconn

Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy, along with IT and industries minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu, on Monday visited the Foxconn Interconnect Technology (FIT) factory at Kongara Kalan to see the progress of the upcoming facility. They assured full support from the state govt for ensuring timely completion of the project.
He reiterated the state govt's commitment to facilitating the company's ongoing as well as future operations in Telangana. CEO and chairman of Foxconn Interconnect Technology, Sydney Lu, joined the meeting via video conference and discussed the current status of the project. Certain operational issues were brought to the knowledge of the CM, following which he instructed concerned officials on the spot to resolve them expeditiously.
In December last year, a delegation of Taiwan-based contract manufacturer Foxconn met CM Revanth and discussed their plans to invest $550 million in Telangana. Foxconn entered into an agreement with the state govt in March 2023, assuring to create one lakh jobs by setting up an electronics manufacturing unit. In the first phase, the company plans to provide 25,000 jobs in the next two years. The firm held a groundbreaking ceremony in May 2023 for the facility to make Apple AirPods. The electronics manufacturing facility at Kongara Kalan is a milestone for the Taiwanese firm's global expansion strategy, diversifying its global manufacturing base. The facility will serve as a hub for Foxconn Interconnect Technology's operations in Telangana.
On Monday, CM Revanth told FIT to consider further investments in Telangana, emphasizing the state's conducive environment for high-tech manufacturing and innovation. The visit signifies the govt's dedication to strengthening Telangana's position as a leading destination for global technology investments, the CMO said.
