HYDERABAD: Distribution of

oxygen cylinders

, masks, medicines, fruits, other food items for the benefit of coronavirus patients, their attendants and other needy people by the Congress leaders marked the observation of the death anniversary of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi on Friday.


Congress MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy distributed 50 oxygen cylinders including 25 of them to the government

in Bhuvanagiri and another 25 to AIIMS, Bibinagar through Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district collector Anitha Ramachandran. He demanded Covid-19 treatment to be included in the Aarogyasri scheme.

Uttam reviewed the facilities in the Huzurnagar government hospital with the superintendent and recalled that former chief minister K Rosaiah had laid the foundation stone for the construction of a 100 bedded hospital in Huzurnagar in 2012.

“Only eight doctors are working in the hospital while the sanctioned strength is 49. Though the area hospital was 100 bedded, it did not have the CT scan facility. There was a shortage of gynaecologists, a radiologist is needed, an improved drinking water facility and an oxygen plant should be set up,” Uttam said.
