Telangana teacher dies by suicide over Rs 7 crore debt; names individuals in selfie video

HYDERABAD: A govt school teacher died by suicide, after allegedly failing to return money he collected from various persons, in Medak town on Saturday .

Teacher K Ramesh, apart from the govt job, used to organise chits and do real estate business. He reportedly collected 7 crore from investors and his clients. However, he suffered severe losses and failed to manage the collected money.

As the investors started to exert pressure on him, Ramesh reportedly sold some properties and returned money to some. Still he owed money to investors, who were putting pressure on him to return their investments. Some approached court after his cheques reportedly got dishonoured. Police said that Ramesh took a selfie video before taking the extreme step and named a few persons as responsible for his extreme step. Police registered a case of abetment to suicide and took up investigation.
