Former Kannada actress Shobitha dies by suicide

HYDERABAD: A former Kannada actress, Shobitha HS, 35, died by suicide at her flat in Kondapur on Sunday afternoon. Hailing from Hassan district in Karnataka, Shobitha married Sudheer Reddy, a software professional, in May 2023 and moved to Hyderabad. Since then, she quit acting and was at home, police said.

According to the Gachibowli police, on Sunday afternoon, the couple were in different bedrooms. Sometime later, Sudheer came to her room and found her hanging and alerted police.

A police team rushed to the spot and started an investigation. The room was also cordoned off for further investigation. Sub-inspector M Venkateshwarlu said that they registered a case and informed her family. "Her husband and her family members are all clueless about the reasons for the suicide. We hope to get more clarity after their family members arrive in the city for further procedures," he added.
