'When will pipeline repair work end?'

HYDERABAD: The two-lane road in front of

Sridevi Theatre in Chandanagar

has narrowed down to a single-lane stretch, thanks to the

never-ending pipeline repair work

in the area. Commuters say they are forced to wait till the traffic from one side clears in order to use the road.

“It has become a nightmare to reach

Swetha Garden road from Sridevi Theatre

lane as the condition of the road has gone from bad to worse. Right at the turning, the road has been dug up to lay a pipeline and has been left without repairs,“ said Uma V, who has been living in the locality for 17 years. Another resident,

Sai Kiran D

, said: “We have more than three schools in this lane and there is always heavy traffic. Because of the dug-up stretch, we are forced to wait till the traffic from the other side clears.“

Residents added that the workers have now started digging the other side of the road too, making them wonder if the road will soon be completely closed down. “As this road is damaged, we started using the opposite road leading to Chandanagar. But in the past couple of days, they started digging that too.Using both roads has become difficult now,“ said Uday P, a resident of Kailash Nagar Colony in the area.
