HYDERABAD: The
Telangana government has decided to form an alternate transport policy at a high-level meeting on Sunday.
In a statement released by the chief minister’s office (CMO) on Saturday, transport minister
Puvvada Ajay Kumar
reiterated that if
RTC
workers who were on strike failed to report to duty before 6 pm on Saturday, they would cease to be employees of RTC. “Even in future, under any circumstances, they will not be treated and considered as RTC employees. The government has decided to evolve a permanent alternate transport policy to see that the people are not put to problems,” Kumar said.
Meanwhile, the APSRTC employee union supported the strike by TSRTC workers. “It is not fair how Telangana government has warned employees with termination. The demands of employees are sincere. We will stand by TSRTC employees in this protest ,” said APSRTC employee union president Y V Rao.
