22-yr-old woman falls off building, injured

Indore: A 22-year-old woman sustained serious injuries after falling off a high-rise building in Vijay Nagar area on Thursday morning. Police are investigating various angles in the case including suicide and accident.DCP Abhinay Vishwakarma stated that they were yet to record the woman's statements, after which further details will be clear. He said that the injured woman, identified as Nandini Dhanotiya, a resident of Nehru Nagar, fell from the third floor of a building near Golden Gate located in Vijay Nagar area. Nandini, who is currently pursuing an MBA, was rushed to a private hospital, where she is undergoing treatment in the ICU.According to initial information from Vijay Nagar police, Nandini came to meet her senior and friend, Dipesh Jain, a resident of Lalitpur, at the building where the incident occurred. While interacting with the police, Dipesh claimed that they were chatting in the room and he was unaware of when she went to the terrace. He expressed uncertainty about whether she accidentally fell or jumped from the third floor.Nandini, however, managed to give a primary statement to the police, indicating that she slipped while talking on the phone, which led to the fall. She fell on the shed of a shop on the building's ground floor, which may have cushioned her landing to some extent.Dipesh, with the help of local residents, rushed Nandini to a nearby private hospital, where she is currently admitted to the ICU. Family members of the young woman were informed about the accident and they reached the hospital.Police officials are continuing their investigation to determine the exact circumstances leading to the incident. Doctors said that the woman suffered multiple fractures in her body and is undergoing treatment.
