Final electoral roll out, 90k new voters in district
Indore: Final electoral role published on Friday ahead of Lok Sabha polls revealed 98 centurions and 208 third genders along with 59,785 youngsters of 18-19 years of age among total 25.70 lakh people registered as voters in the district.
Around 2.5 lakh voters of Dr Ambedkar Nagar (Mhow) will exercise their franchise in general elections for Dhar Lok Sabha seat for the constituency number-209 (Mhow) falling in one of its eight assembly seats.

In a meeting of standing committee of representatives of registered political parties, participants raised various ‘irregularities’ in preparing voters’ list. BJP leader Rajesh Agrawal claimed that voters’ slips were not distributed at Christen Eminent School polling booth of Indore-V and a complaint in this regard was not addressed while Congress leader alleged a difference in voters’ list of BLOs and agents of their party. The participants also demanded to free anganwadi and IMC workers from BLO duty.
According to official data, district has witnessed a rise in women participation as gender ratio of voters have improved from 939.6 females/1000 males to 944.56 females/1000 males. However, there was still huge discrimination in gender ratio (electors) among different assembly seats as Indore-1 had a gender ratio (voters) of 917.54 while Indore-IV had recorded gender ratio (voters) of 973.41.
“The disparity in gender ratio (voters) is there due to various factors including migrant population and women not coming out to be registered as voters due to various reasons,” election officials said.
Eligible voters will get a last chance to get themselves in the electoral roll as district election office will hold camps on March 2-3 at all booths while applicants can also apply online at NVSP portal. The eligible electors will be incorporated in supplementary voters’ list.

, district election office received 2.61 lakh claims and objections and after disposing them, 1.55 lakh people were added in the voters’ list of 24.80 lakh electors.
