IIM-I to come up with mgmt development programme in Hindi

Indore: Indian Institute of Management, Indore, (IIM-I) on Tuesday announced the launch of Management Development Programme (MDP) in January, 2024.Curriculum of the programme will be designed in Hindi and it will be of two weeks for the first batch. The duration of the programme may increase in future.“Management Development Programme will serve as a tribute to Hindi language and contribute to education for all, setting a pioneering benchmark in the field. The first batch of two-week General Management Programme in Management (Hindi) will commence in January 2024,” said a communique issued by IIM Indore on Tuesday.Speaking on the occasion of the 2th Foundation Day of the institute, director professor Himanshu Rai said, "We have always held our culture close to our hearts, and our recent endeavours - workshops for Sanskrit, Tamil and odia, underscore this commitment. While the world often associates management and MBA programmes with English, we proudly declare our Indian identity. It fills me with immense pride to announce that we are soon going to launch Management Development Programmes (short-term and long-term) in Hindi." The institute also announced plans to introduce special courses for women looking to resume their careers. "We plan to offer specially designed courses for women, who have temporarily put their careers on hold, aiming to empower them to seamlessly reintegrate into the workforce,” said Rai.IIM-I in collaboration with the National Commission for Women (NCW) and the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) will assist one hundred women entrepreneurs over the next five years, the institute said.Under its G8 project, IIM-I plans expansion in the state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities.“This ambitious expansion plan represents a significant leap forward on our journey toward excellence. With the construction of state-of-the-art academic buildings and multi-storey hostel blocks, we are poised to accommodate 870 exceptional students who will shape the future. Offices for our esteemed faculty and dedicated staff will ensure a conducive environment for nurturing brilliance,” said Rai.The Best Teacher Awards were presented to distinguished faculty members who excelled in various aspects of their roles.

Programme to support entrepreneurs launched

Udyogi Samapark Abhiyan, a weeklong mentees support programme, was launched to support young entrepreneurs in Odisha. The campaign vehicle will travel through various districts to reach candidates in the mentee stage under Swakalpa, a self-employment and entrepreneurship development programme. Experts will provide technical support to small entrepreneurs at their doorstep. The programme aims to promote sustainable commercial agriculture in Jammu and Kashmir and improve the livelihoods of farmers along the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor. The Gujarat government will hold 37 events as part of the Vibrant Gujarat-Vibrant District program to showcase the state's industrial capacity and cultural traditions.

Mins son administers oath to women in religious programme

Nitish Silawat, the son of Water Resource Minister Tulsiram Silawat, was seen in a video leading a religious program and urging women to support his father's victory in the upcoming assembly polls. The video shows Nitish asking women to lift Kalash (urns) as a symbol of his father's triumph. The incident comes after protests erupted in Madhya Pradesh over ticket distribution for the BJP. Meanwhile, Amrit Kalash Yatras are being organized across various cities to commemorate India's 75 years of independence.

CM unwell, cancels programmes

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot of Jaipur cancelled his programmes on Monday due to illness. Doctors have advised him to rest, and it is possible that his programmes for the next two days will also be cancelled. Sources have stated that his programmes have been put on hold.
