Illegal godown raided, 175 gas cylinders seized

Indore: Indore district administration's food department on Wednesday raided a garage which was being used as a gas cylinder godown illegally on Pithampur Road in Dr Ambedkar Nagar and seized 175 cylinders from there."The action followed persistent complaints and three months of surveillance. At the location, the team found illegally-stored gas cylinders from two Mhow-based gas agencies: Bharat Gas Service IOC and Gas O Mhow HPCL. A total of 120 cylinders (14.2 kg, domestic) from HPCL and 50 cylinders from IOC, along with four five kg cylinders, were seized from the godown and two loading autos," food controller Mohan Maru said.Vehicle drivers Shiva Jaiswal (Bharat Gas Service) and Sunil Pal (Gas O Mhow) were taken into custody. Nizam Khan, maternal uncle of godown owner Tehrim Meher, said that he had rented the godown to both gas agencies, Maru said. "The garage has been sealed. A case has been registered and the probe is on," he said.
