It was on the eighth day of the Nautapa that the residents of the city started to feel the heat with maximum temperature rising above 40 degree Celsius.
The period of hottest nine days of the summers which had commenced from May 25 is to continue till June 2.
As per the Met department, Indore recorded 40.4 degree Celsius with a rise of 0.2 degree Celsius in a span of 24 hours whereas the minimum temperature was 26.3 degree Celsius with a rise of 0.8 degrees. The relative humidity per cent in the morning was 64 per cent and it came down by 43 notches to 21 per cent in the evening time.
Highest maximum temperature of 45 degree Celsius was recorded at Nowgaon in Madhya Pradesh.
