His counsel MM Bohra submitted before the court that the petitioner was not related to the incident of riots and not arraigned as accused, but his shop was demolished.

, certain miscreants incited riots among two groups in Khargone district causing huge loss of property and a life, submitted petitioner. Subsequently, a demolition drive was carried out targeting one group, the petition alleged.

The government has passed MP Damage to Public and Private Property Recovery Act, 2021 enabling recovery of public and private property damaged during the riots, protests and rallies by individuals or groups within 15 days of a tribunals’ verdict.

But the persons whose houses are demolished by the illegal activities of the respondents including the petitioner are not given advantage of the same, the petition said, seeking a judicial probe into the demolitions and compensation to those losing property in the drive.
