Advocate Dwivedi

in his petition before court submitted that Madhya Pradesh only had seven Jan Ausadhi centres but not a one in Indore of those 1027 in country.

Advocate Dwivedi got this information through a letter sent to Prime Minister’s office (PMO) last year.

The scheme to set up Jan Asaudhi centres in public and private hospitals across country was launched around a couple of years back for providing better quality generic drug to the patients, submitted Advocate Dwivedi.

These centres became very important for state like Madhya Pradesh that lagged in almost all major health parameters set in NITI Aayog report including Maternal Mortality, institutional deliveries, contraceptive measures, and others, submitted Advocate Dwivedi.

In the state, more than 50% of the population belong to schedule caste and schedule tribe community. Because of the lag of cheaper health facilities, the people are forced to opt for treatment in private hospital by borrowing money, submitted Advocate Dwivedi.

This is happening despite the constitutional guarantee for accessible education, health services and employment opportunities in the country. This situation caused havoc upon people during pandemic in the state, submitted Dwivedi.

The court after hearing the argument asked to list the matter after six weeks while issuing notices.
