Youth who injured man in knife attack held, minor aide taken in custody

Indore: A 19-year-old youth, who allegedly attacked a man with a knife on Sunday following a dispute over old enmity, was arrested on Tuesday. His minor accomplice was also taken into custody.Additional DCP Alok Sharma said that a violent altercation broke out between two groups in Sadar Bazar area on Sunday. The incident took place due to an old dispute, and the main accused, Syed Zafar Ali, 19, along with his juvenile accomplice, attacked Uttam Sharma and Kunal Sen with the intent to kill, seriously injuring one in a knife attack, the additional DCP said.A case was registered at Sadar Bazar Police Station under relevant sections of BNS. Sharma said that a team led by inspector Yashwant Badole tracked down the accused. Through technical surveillance, analysis of CCTV footage and inputs from informants, the police located and arrested Syed Zafar Ali, a resident of Marathi Mohalla, Sadar Bazar Main Road. His juvenile accomplice was also taken into custody, and appropriate legal action was initiated.During the arrest operation, Zafar attempted to evade the police and sustained injuries to his leg. He was immediately provided medical attention.
