BJP’s Parivartan Sankalp Yatra concludes, swells party’s hope

Jaipur: The final phase of BJP’s Parivartan Sankalp Yatra, which consisted of four phases, concluded in Alwar on Friday. The party claimed to have reached out to a staggering 4 million people during the 21-day yatra that covered 8,700 km and traversed all the 200 assembly segments.While several BJP leaders participated in the yatra, for some it was a missed opportunity. Leader of Opposition Rajendra Rathore, former state president Satish Poonia and Union minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat were prominent among the state BJP leaders who attended the yatra. Rajya Sabha MP Kirori Lal Meena was notable for his absence in it. The absence of former CM Vasundhara Raje, known as the biggest crowd-pulling leader in the state, was an opportunity for other state leaders to make a mark.Poonia and Rathore claimed to be the only leaders to have attended over 100 events, including public meetings, press conferences and welcome marches, of the yatra. “Both leaders addressed jam-packed meetings that came as a face-saving measure for the party’s media team,” said a BJP leader. While the Shekhawati region saw large crowds joining the yatra’s programmes, poor turnout at some places in the tribal belt alarmed the party.“The yatra has given a much-needed impetus to the party. It mobilised the party and gave the common people a platform to register their anger,” said Rathore.Shekhawat addressed 27 public meetings and nine press conferences during this yatra. He attended the yatra’s programmes in Jodhpur, Nagaur, Pali, Sirohi, Jalore and Jaisalmer districts.Details of every event during the yatra, including visuals, pictures, gatherings, participation of leaders, and enthusiasm for gatherings, were recorded by BJP’s central team, said sources. “They will evaluate the progress of all the leaders. A detailed report will be sent to state in-charge Arun Singh soon,” said a BJP leader.

Rajasthan: Vasundhara Raje skips BJP's 'Parivartan Sankalp Yatra' on home turf

Former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje was absent from the BJP's 'Parivartan Sankalp Yatra' in Jhalawar district, a region she has represented politically for 33 years. No reason was given for her absence. The yatra, which covered 47 assembly segments with a 1,847-km tour, received a huge response in Jhalawar. Raje's office did not respond to requests for comment. The yatra concluded in Jaipur after covering seven constituencies in six hours. All BJP MLAs from the city participated.

Tomar leads BJPs Yatra into Budhni

The ruling BJP's Jan Ashirwad Yatra, led by Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, entered Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's Budhni constituency. Tomar expressed confidence that the party would win a fifth term with a two-thirds majority. He praised Chouhan's work in transforming Madhya Pradesh and emphasized the need to work towards winning all 230 constituencies. Tomar also highlighted the BJP's efforts in empowering women through reservations in local bodies and in Parliament.

Yatra being used to collect money from ticket aspirants: BJP leader

BJP leader Ramkishore Meena has claimed that party functionaries were collecting money from election ticket seekers during the party's Parivartan Sankalp Yatra. Meena sent a letter to Union minister Prahlad Joshi about this issue. He mentioned that party district units have been collecting money ranging from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 25,000 from prospective candidates. Meena questioned whether this was decided by the state organization or if district units were doing it on their own.
