Bride tests positive for Covid-19 in Rajasthan, gets married at Covid care centre
JAIPUR: After being tested positive for Covid-19 on the day of her marriage, a bride tied

“The marriage was performed following all the Covid-19 protocol. Even the pandit who came for solemnizing marriage was also wearing PPE kit,” said Dr Sampat Raj Nagar, chief medical health officer, Baran.
The bride belongs to Nahargarh of Kishanganj block of Baran district. “A couple of days ago, the bride's uncle and aunty tested positive for Covid-19. When contact tracing was conducted, samples of bride and other family members were taken. The result of the test report was received today (Monday) morning, which was also the day of marriage. Bride and her mother were tested positive,” said Dr Arif.
Before the health department team could reach to her house in Nahargarh of Kishanganj block, they came to know that she had already left with her family to Kelwara of Shahbad block of Baran district.
The health department team rushed to the spot where the marriage was being solemnized. When the teams reached the spot, they persuaded that the marriage cannot happen as bride has tested positive and once she recovered, only than they will be allowed to get married.

Covid care centre
without any guest, only pandit and father of bride were allowed. A three-member team was constituted by the district administration for monitoring the marriage to ensure Covid-19 protocol. The health department provided the PPE kits to bride and bridegroom, pandit and father of the bride. A mandap (a place where marriage was performed) was installed at the Covid care centre. Pandit chanted mantras wearing PPE kits.After the marriage, the bride was admitted to the Covid care centre along with her mother, who was tested positive for Covid, since her father was tested negative, he was allowed to go home. Bridegroom was also admitted to Covid care centre as a suspected Covid patient and his samples have been taken and sent for Covid-19 test.
