Cong holds stir in 250 wards of Jaipur against Centre’s policies
Jaipur: Congress on Sunday staged a massive protest in 250 wards of Jaipur denouncing the mismanagement of the central BJP government. In a protest led by the Food and Civil Supplies minister and district president Pratap Singh Khachariyawas, Congress party workers burnt effigies of the BJP administration. The demonstration aimed to condemn nine years of misrule, falsehoods, fraud, and deceit perpetrated by the BJP government at the national level. During the protest, hundreds of Congress workers raised slogans against the BJP, on issues like inflation, poverty, unemployment, and demonetisation. Speaking to the gathered Congress workers at the intersection of Doodh Mandi in Shastri Nagar area, Khachariyawas addressed the crowd, asserting that the entire nation has been burdened by inflation, poverty, and unemployment due to nine years of BJP's mismanagement. The rupee has plummeted significantly against the dollar. The escalating prices of petrol, diesel, and gas cylinders have imposed immense hardship on the public, with no one willing to heed their pleas. He pointed, "The government had previously demonetised the 500 and 1000 currency notes in the name of curbing inflation, corruption, and recovering illicit funds. However, instead of retrieving black money, the move resulted in the destruction of 500-1000 notes, costing the exchequer Rs 50,000 crore in the production and printing of new notes. People's hard-earned money was rendered worthless, only to witness the discontinuation of the 2000 note after a mere six and a half years, subjecting the entire nation to yet another round of long queues."Expressing dismay, the minister accused the BJP of callously disregarding the suffering of the people, suggesting that they derive satisfaction from inflicting hardships on the populace, which is an affront to democracy. It appears that the BJP is unconcerned with fear, hunger, poverty, and unemployment. He asserted that the BJP aims to govern by exploiting religious sentiments, but just as Bajrangbali blessed Congress in Karnataka, he believes that the same divine support will favor Congress in Rajasthan.
