Delhi–Jaipur travel time to drop to 4.5 hours as NHAI opens 6 flyovers on NH-48

Faster Delhi–Jaipur drive from April

Travel time between Delhi and Jaipur via NH-48 (old highway through Kotputli) is set to shrink significantly from April. With multiple bridges and flyovers nearing completion, motorists can expect a smoother, faster and less interrupted journey on this key intercity stretch.

2/7

4.5–5 hour target travel time

Once all nine structures are commissioned, NHAI estimates the Delhi–Jaipur trip will take about 4.5 to 5 hours. This will bring the old highway route nearly on par with the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway option via the Bandikui link road.

3/7

Six structures to open by March

NHAI will commission six under-construction bridges and flyovers by March 31. Officials say these additions will remove long-pending bottlenecks, improve carriageway continuity and ensure safer traffic movement along the Gurgaon–Kotputli–Jaipur corridor.

4/7

Relief for peak-hour commuters

With grade separators replacing traffic signals and at-grade crossings, daily commuters and long-distance drivers can expect fewer traffic snarls, safer merges and consistent cruising speeds — especially during peak hours near Delhi and border stretches.

5/7

Key flyovers at Kotputli, Behror & Dahmi

Flyovers at Kotputli, Behror and Dahmi are already complete, while a bridge at Khatolai has been opened to traffic. These structures aim to decongest busy junctions and improve flow at previously accident-prone and signal-heavy crossings.

6/7

Work underway at Bawal & Shahpura

Two more flyovers at Bawal and Shahpura, along with bridges at Sotanala, Neelka and Neejhar, are in final stages. Once operational, they are expected to eliminate black spots and significantly reduce stoppage time caused by local intersections.

7/7

Competing with expressway route

Currently, the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway via Bandikui offers a 3.5–4 hour run to DND Flyway, but peak-hour congestion towards Rao Tularam Marg adds nearly an hour. The upgraded NH-48 alignment merges at the same junction, offering comparable timing.
