The single bench of Justice Mohammad Rafique was hearing a petition by his estranged wife Geeta Singh Deo seeking a fair investigation by an independent agency like CBI as the charges against her chief secretary husband OP Meena are not being probed by the state police seriously due to the high position he enjoys in the bureaucratic hierarchy. The court directed the Additional Advocate general

to get the government view in this matter and convey it to the court on Oct 18.

Geeta Singh Deo had filed a complaint in the Mahila police station in September last year accusing Meena of misbehaving with her and her daughter. The FIR field with the police had said they got married in 1982 and in 1984 she gave birth to their daughter Geetanjali and since then Meena started misbehaving with her as he wanted a son. She said OP Meena never took care of her or their daughter but has been physically and mentally torture her.

The petition said though the Mahila police initially said they would chargesheet Meena following up on her complaint. But they changed their mind and has been forcing for a compromise against her will and put the investigation pending later due to the pressure exerted by Meena, it was alleged.

The petition said she would not get justice as her husband is the chief secretary of Rajasthan and the state police are reluctant to act against the chief secretary.
